I keep thinking about "The Void" that I used as a metaphor in my first post on this site. For the purposes of that metaphor the void can be anything but I the idea of the void stuck with me and I wanted to add some substance to it. The void by nature of the word has to be a dark consuming thing but I didn't want it to be a black hole so I started looking at other astronomical phenomena that might fit the bill. It all started to come together when I learned about Barnard 68, a dark nebula that effectively sent me down the rabbit hole that is this post.
